Committee Meeting

Meeting started 2000hrs

The Treasurer opened the meeting by asking the committee for full support in raising the membership feee for the club, he then put forward a proposal of making the fee 15/- to be payed every six months this would bring into the club funds an extra £15-5-0 approx. with the membership as it stood at the last A.G.M. (35 members recorded in the Treasurer's statement). He also stressed that as the subject of raising membership fees had been made at several meetings it was about time that something was done about it once and for all. The committee was in agreement and a meeting was called for 24th January 1966. Letters would be sent to all members informing them of this.

The Secretary Mr A. Palfreyman then stated that owing to pressures beyond his control, he would have to resign his post, but would remain as Acting-Secretary until the post was filled at the Special Meeting.

It was decided by the Committee that the club should be made known as an active club to gain new members and to keep the respect of present members, and to do this the Committee should begin by setting a good example. Mr J. Lewis stated that he would try to do something with the Elizabethan Transmitter to get it back on the air instead of gathering dust in the corner of the shack.

The committee voted this a good thing to have a decent club station. It was also agreed that any new ideas from the Committee would be placed on the club notice board for all members to read. It was also decided that the Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer wore a badge at all meetings so that new members would know exactly who those persons were withoug having to ask every other member if he was the Chairman, Secretary or Treasurer.

Having agreed on all points raised at the meeting, the Chairman thanked Mr J Lewis for the use of his house and Mrs Lewis for the coffee and biscuits, and then declared the meeting closed. 2215hrs approx.
