CHAIRMANS REPORT
Chris started his report by stating that the committee was forward looking in all aspects of planning, the contest was his proudest day with all the members putting their backs into National Field Day, after which, due to the friendly atmosphere the club membership had increased quite considerably, the committee had showed the way after arguements over contest management. The highlight of the year was the The Leicester Show the effort of LRS members had surpassed all before, and the effort must be highly ptaised, the result of pulling together had resulted in financial benefits to the club being far in excess of our Wildest dreams, the show was rounded off with a pleasant surprise drink at the Grahby Halls. The brilliant and successful year was rounded off by the very pleasant Christmas meal. At the Grand Hotel organised by Linda.
Acceptance of the Chairmans Report was proposed. By G4UBD and seconded by G4ILT.
TREASURERS REPORT
Tony reported that due to the efforts of the club members along with LRG the balance as shown was a very healthy sum, it would be left up to the new committee as to whether we invest some of the money accrued.
Report proposed by G3LTT and seconded by G3UQX.
SECRETARYS REPORT
Frank said that we had started of the year by displaying a list of Officers and committee making it easier for all to see at a glance who to contact, and at last 'Cliffs' key had been renovated ready to be presented to a worthy recipient. From several designs a new club badge had been cast and made available to all, many priaseworthy comments had been received as to it's appearance from many parts of the country. It had been muted many times as to why we did not buy the Club premises, after contact with the Estates Surveyor it was reported that eventually the land would be required for an extension to the cemetary, it could be 5 years , it could be 25 years temporary solution would be to buy a Porta-Cabin and place in the garden as a meeting room. There were many new purchases during the year including a clock for the HF shack, new portable masts for contests and a complete 2 metre set up. We are now in possession of the 'B' licence G6XRS which makes it possible for at least two stations in contests. A notable first was a meeting which resulted in LRS and LRG getting together to organise the Leicester Show which proved to be a resounding success, the next show was planned for the 26th and 27th. of October 1984. Lastly a new membership certificate was favourably received by a record number of 71 paid up members
