Minutes of AGM held at Club Premises

Monday 19th January 1987

Meeting opened at 20.10 hrs..

Apologies were received from G5UM our president who was unfortunately snowed in, further apologies from G4CWY, G4WYN, G1IWE, G1IXI.....

1. In view of the absence of our President, the meeting agreed to deal with item 8 at the start of the meeting. G4PDZ Frank stated that during research into the past of LRS he found that G4JPO Ron had been an active member in 1934, in view of this and his very close association with our President he proposed Ron be installed as vice President of the Society, G4ITP seconded, by a show of hands motion carried.
   
   

2. The minutes of the last AGM held on 20th January 1986 were read by G4PDZ, G4RLC proposed and G4IFB seconded the minutes be accepted, all agreed.
   
   

3. No matters arising.
   
   

4. The Chairman G4ITP in his report hoped all were comfortable in the furniture and carpets acquired recently at a very modest price, the main Club house was now more Secure with bars at all windows, which was felt necessary after the purchase of the new TS930 and other equipment. Taff Went on to comment on the various functions during the year and gave thanks to the committee for their hardwork. Proposal to accept Chairmans report by G4AIZ seconded by G0AZM, all accepted.
   
   

5. Tony G4JDi Treasurer present his report attached, one or two items needed further clarification but in the main accepted as presented. Proposed by Linda Seconded by G4KKS.
   
   

6. Frank G4PDZ Secretary stated year was one of steady improvements with purchase of new equipment, and brought us our most distant fully paid up member VU2GSI Gwdah, mention was made of the slow but sure progress in the twinning arrangements with the Krefeld Amateur Radio Club. On behalf Of the Club Frank gave thanks to Taff our Chairman for his astuteness in obtaining the new furniture and carpets.
   1988 is the 75th anniversary of LRS and Frank asked for assistance in writing the history of the Society.
   G8VQM proposed acceptance of the report G0BAI seconded all accepted.
   
   

7. Election of Officers

   1. Chairman G0AIZ proposed G4ITP Taff, G4EPA seconded, no other proposals G4ITP elected after show of hands.

   2. Treasurer G4PDZ proposed G4JDI Tony, Linda seconded, no other proposals G4JDI elected after show of hands.

   3. Secretary G6NCJ proposed G4PDZ Frank, G4OOS seconded no other proposals G4PDZ elected after show of hands.

   4. Ass Secretary G3TQF proposed G4IFB Gary, G4OOS seconded, no other proposals G4IFB elected after show of hands.
      
      

8. Election of Committee Members.
   Eight members were proposed and after a paper vote the following were elected:
   G4OOS, G4KKS, G4WYN, G3TQF, G6ZZE.
   
   

9. Any other business G3TQF proposed thanks to Melvin for his efforts with the tea
   
   After discussion it was agreed the committee would discuss part fees and a list of events to members
   
   G4LRO expressed his dismay at the committees handling of the 1985 survey of equipment required, it was agreed new survey would be taken.
