COMMITTEE MEETING 13/05/96

As there was no meeting in the month of APRIL the minutes of the March meeting was presented and passed, Proposed by MIKE G4SJX, Seconded by DAVE G7DPU.
The committee raised the question of R HILLIER who is on the committee, but as not attended the last three meetings, also ADAM G0ORY who is also a Committee member who as not attended the last two meetings, but as been on the club premises, chairman to contact both parties, to see if they are still wishing to be committee members or not?.
Chairman spoke about the use of the club to other interested groups/parties etc, if members know of other groups etc, please contact the committee,
Chairman told the committee, about the club lease offered by the LCC, it seems that they now realise that the portacabin is LRS property, but also that we must share any costs to the lane repairs etc. Of 15%, and that the club must pay an additional insurance costs of £170pds on the club property as Stated by LCC, The lease as been discussed with LCC by the premises committee, and they have been informed that LRS can have a 5 yr lease but no longer at this time, it was also put to the committee that the two committee members who have been doing the negotiating on behalf of the club that they ROGER G4LRO and JOHN G7GCK be absolved from all liability, costs, responsibility, in as regards the lease to LRS, This was agreed by the committee.
The chairman, passed around a leaflet of a building that was for sale, ideal for what the club is looking for, but it was to far away to be of any use to the club.
It was proposed that there be a book, on who as keys, and safe keys, for LRS and that it is listed into the book, the book to be kept in the safe, agreed, Chairman passed around a new form (b and Buy) for the committee to look at and pass any comments upon, to be noted at next meeting.
MIKE G4SJX and ATHUR GOTNI to arrange a meeting to gather as regards membership/s past and local to formulate a letter, that can be sent out, to invite then to perhaps rejoin the club
Two smoke alarms have been fitted in the club plus warning notices posted on the stairs, DAVE G7DPU to committee abt vending machine drinks i.e tea/coffee decided that it was not practical at the club, DAVE G7DPU asked abt running costs Of the energy light bulbs, and the fitting of the pir lights / plus gas fires, when the man as time he will fit them.
committee now as the G5UM Shield back at the club, inscribed correctly.
A.O.B, Question why do the novices not stop at the club after passing the course? can we all encourage them too! JOHN G7GCK suggested the we look at the lottery for funding if possible agreed,
