Minutes of committee meeting held on Monday 2nd February 1981.

DONATION.
The club received a £25 cheque from ARRA as a thank you for putting on the talk in station at Granby Halls last year. In his letter he also asked if we would be prepared to continue this year even if the site is moved to the proposed Donnington Park. The committee decided that in the interest of the club we would continue. Following this letter the committee discussed the possibility of holding our own mobile rally in Leicester if the Leicester Show is moved this year. The members thought this was a good idea and agreed planning would have to begin this year in preparation for 1982.
NEW MEMBERS.
Six new members were accepted into the club and I hope you will all join the committee in making them welcome.
CONTESTS.
The need for a contest co-ordinator and contest managers for HF VHF contests was discussed and Bob G8SZV wes appointed as co-ordinator, Geoff G3TQF as VHF manager and John G4GVC as HF manager. It is hoped that Cliff G3PBC and Tony G3CWY will be running field day again this and the committee hope that they will be given all the support they desire.
The committee discussed the need for a club caravan aa a mobile shack for use in contests and if anyone comes across an old caravan suitable the possibility of purchase will be discussed.
CLUB ACTIVITIES.
It was decided that more coordination of club activities was needed and to this end John G4EPA was voted. Activities Organizer, amongst the activities discussed was a full years programme of lectures taking place approximately once every four weeks covering all aspects of amateur radio. The dates of the lectures will be posted as they are arranged.
Other activities arranged were the DF Hunt League to this end the Captain Thomas Trophy is to be allocated for the Winner of 198l DF Hunt League. The final activity discussed at this meeting was the Constructors Competition in which the same rules as last year apply and the Judging will take place on l3th April.
OTHER BUSINESS.
Gary G4ILT was voted as snack manager replacing Dave G8OBP. As secretary I would like to say on behalf of the members a big thank you to Dave for the work he has done during his stay as shack manager.
A letter was received from AMSAT asking for a donation it was decided that it would be left up to the individual to support them and the club would not send a collective donation.
The meeting ended at 10.05 pm and the date for the next meeting was set for 1st Monday in March.
