Minutes of Committee Meeting held on Monday October 27th, 1980

This was the first meeting since the summer and the Sec - noted that one of the main reasons for calling it was to acknowledge the recent work carried out by several club members to clean up the club house and also to discuss points raised by certain members regarding club activities. The committee felt that this interest should be encouraged and that the membership in general should be given the opportunity to put forward their ideas for discussion. It was therefore decided to arrange an open Discussion Evening on Monday 10th November with the following tentative agenda:
Effective use of club premises
Shack and aerials
Lecture Programme
Contests
Sunday morning meetings
Discussion of operating procedures & problems. What can the club do? Shack evenings.
Christmas social evening
Other points. . .
Lectures
The Sec said he had had a letter from Tilton Young Farmers Club requesting a lecture on Amateur Radio. It was decided that this could be arranged and the Sec was asked to reply to confirm the date.
John G4EPA said he was almost ready to give his lecture on time Clocks and would arrange a date as soon as possible.
It was suggested that a lecture on RTTY would be of interest and Phil G8RBY will be approached to see if he would be willing to oblige.
