Leicester Radio Society Committee Meeting
March 6th 2017
Meeting opened at 19.40
Present Pete Tony Sandra John Keith Alex Phil
Absent Trev and apologies from Mike
1,The minutes were read from previous meeting and accepted
2,The meeting was brought forward a week as the Leicester City Council had been rather inpatient to get news on electrical work being carried out at the club,
Peter addressed the meeting telling us that Leicester city council had sent 11 pages /emails to peter wanting updates on electrical work and completion date.
It was put before the committee that the 23rd of march would be a good day for inviting Mr Robinson and the councils electrical inspector to the club to have a look round
Also it would give us time to finish off some jobs and have a clean-up weekend over the weekend of the 18th and 19th march.
3, A long term plan of work needs to be put into place
To be included plastering / decorating /painting of the house
As soon as the electrical work has been inspected and signed off this would be a priority.
4, It was noted about the path outside being a danger as loose bricks and slabs were a trip hazard and Trev would be asked to finish it off.
Keith had to leave early 19.59 family commitments,
5, the club assets need to be up dated and there had been some confusion as to who owned some of the equipment being used by the club
All cameras cctv and alarm system are owned by the club
And Pete wanted it noted that all he had donated to the cub was now club property.
Phil was looking into having a sdr radio on the web site phil had put a lovely neat cabinet in cupboard up stairs housing the wifi and the router and this is still Phils property at this time.
Trev arrived at 20.00 with apologies and promised to tackle the path before the next Monday club night,
6, The training was going well there was 10 persons on the course and another 2 possible just taking the exam, we had had one person drop out because he felt the course/lecture room was not suitable for him. Sandra was going to speak to the gentleman in question and maybe in the future a one to one course could be looked at. (spoke to this gentleman and he has all Essex hams data and would be in touch later).
7, An open meeting was decided on for 10th April as the rewire car park grounds should be all about done so the membership could see the present committee are on track with all they had undertaken so far.
8, The accounts needed to be brought up to date
9, Subs were talked about and there are still a lot not paid up for this year,
10,Events diary into June but any talks speakers are welcome.
11, A Easter raffle will be done at open meeting
12, it was hoped that we could interest some of the foundation licence holders in the vhf Contests that are being run at the moment on fm just one hour long.
13,John was going to get NoV for abbey pumping station as they had offered us a place there again , Wymondham windmill was still unsure as building work was being done,
Trev asked if there were or if we knew of any hand helds (non licence) for use with the scout group
We thought a notice on the board in lecture room maybe the way to go,
The meeting ended at 20.56
