Committee Meeting Sunday 11 Jan 1970.

The meeting was summoned at short notice.

The following points were discussed :-

  1. Leisure 70 Exhibition
    A meeting of the Committee and the Special Events Sub. Committee will be held as soon as possible to begin the planning of our stand at this exhibition which opens on 22 April 1970. It should be possible to reclaim the cost of taking out callsign GB3LRS if this is decided
  2. Future Programme
    Proposed as follows:-

    Monday 12 JAN 70  Informal
    19 JAN 70  Projects Evening
    28 JAN 70  R.A.E. Quiz Night
    2 FEB 70  Discussion on NFD 70
    Secretary to approach Vero Electionics about a talk.
  3. Scouts I.O.T.A.
    The Chairman said taht the last time he approached Leicester Scouts there were enthusiastic but did nothing. It was agreed that if we found a local group who were enthusiastic we would put on a station for it.
  4. Contest for S.W.L's.
    Agreed this was a good idea if we can make it work. Vic Winton to look into it.
  5. Miscellaneous
    1. Tony Barratt G8BMF will continue as club equipment officer.
    2. Cliff Craythorne G3PBC is to take over the club transmitting licence.
    3. Secretary to request advice from RSGB regarding possibility of obtaining financial aid from Local Education Authority, and also supply of QSL cards from the City or County.
    4. Certificates are to be presented on Project Night, to G3PBC, G3XKX & John Ball.
    5. The Chairman will talk to Jack Hum about support to be expected from VHF/UHF group in VHF Field Day & also about judging of constructors contest.
    6. John Garner & Neville Tomlinson to be chased re advertisers in LFLA programme
