General Meeting
Discussion for Leisure 70 Exhibition 22-25 April 70.
Frequency :- G3XKX suggested 15m as used last year but G3PBC said we might be disappointed as it is declining. He suggested 20m as the main band.
G3UGM asked what was the probability of getting the new 20m quad finished in time. The general view was that it was too difficult to get it up on the roof of Granby Hall.
Stand :- The Chairman G3XKX proposed that we build a set of panels for use as a backing to the display. This would be lettered "Leicester Radio Society" and "G3LRS". Provision would be required to make it "GB3LRS" when necessary. Panels would be in pegboard. Estimate of cost to be obtained by John Smith & Richard Cook. G3XKX offered to take charge of the project.
It was proposed that we have two stations, and a book-stall. If possible there should be a building project going on.
Items requiring attention :-
- Can we get in the hall on Sunday 19th? (this is N. Midlands Rally date)
- We need power at an early stage
- Car passes for Exhibition
- Get books etc. from RSGB
- Handouts from P.D.
- Books etc. from S.W.M.
Other points raised
Provide a receiver for visitors to use?
Lay on D/F demonstration?
Build electrical distribution board.
