Following points were discussed :-
Repairs and Renovations
The work we were asked to do last October is still outstanding, except that the hedges have been trimmed.
Painting outside stairs: Neville Tomlinson has donated some paint for this purpose. G3UGM is to lead the painting operation.
Garden Gate G8BMF is to look after the provision of a new gate.
Garden G3XKX is to see to the tidying of the garden.
VHF Field day
This was discussed and the question of joint operation with the Leicestershire VHF/UHF group led to the point being made that the group did not pull their weight last time. Finally all members agreed (though some reluctantly) to repeat the joint effort. The Hon. Sec. pointed out that he had already put this point of view to Jack Hum G5UM who undertook to try to whip up more enthusiasm.
Outdoor Activities
An attempt was made to suggest some outdoor programmes for the summer and the only proposal was an Expedition to Rutland. This would be in the form of a picnic on Sunday 2nd August. All transportable gear for any bands would be welcome.
Reorganisation of the Shack
This is still hanging fire. Agreed to go into details and work out an action before authorising expenditure.
Aluminium Poles
There was general approval of the purchase of the aluminium poles which were borrowed for the 20 metre quad.
Use of Club call-sign
Members should be encouraged to use the club callsign from their QTH or - /P. This would be authorised by the committee and the member should be in possession of the club log-book at the time.
Subscriptions
The Hon. Treas. said that the rules do not specify the amount of reduction in subscriptions for Junior Members. Agreed to ament this at the next A.G.M. Meanwhile he was authorised by the committee to charge half-price.
Future Programme.
